Activities from April 2006 to March 2007
- Sanvedana Foundation arranged an interview of two ladies who are running ‘Sudatta’ Adoption Support Group. Some of the epileptic patients always hesitate to take a chance for a child, because in science, doctors have written that there is six percent possibility to pass on epilepsy in new generation. That’s why Sanvedana Foundation contacted adoption support group. In that meeting all of us could hear about the enjoyment to adopt a baby, and to give a new life to the baby!
- Renutai Gavaskar visited Sanvedana Foundation few times to teach patients through the stories. Renutai works for street children and she always communicate with children via story telling. Sanvedana Foundation’s members enjoyed this session a lot.
- Diet and Epilepsy: As patient’s requirement Sanvedana Foundation again arranged a lecture of Dr. Vijaya Sathe, a diet specialist. Dr. Vijaya Sathe told very immensely, how diet has helped epileptic patients up till now, and how it has helped to come out of epilepsy’s side effects.
- Very good news of this year is, two marriages were arranged through Sanvedana Foundation’s Marriage Bureau, and went on very good. All of them are epileptic patients, and their attacks are in control.
- Sanvedana Foundation found that some of the patients living with epilepsy are affected with schizophrenics as well. And vice versa. That’s why, Sanvedana co-ordinate with Schizophrenia Awareness Association, a very well know institute in Pune. Three lectures and a work-shop were arranged in collaboration with SAA.
- The memorable day for Sanvedana members was 11th Feb 2006. It was a pleasant morning, when 30 members of Sanvedana Foundation started from Pune to Otur, near Junnar, in a beautiful real farm for a trip. All the members reached Otur, in a real farmer’s house in his farm. The farmer told about his work, about his experiments, about the products and about his problems as well. It was a very different experience for Sanvedana’s members. Sanvedana visited to the river in Otur, to the ‘Aamraai’ (mango trees) etc. And while coming back the members visited to Ozar, which is very famous for Ganapati Temple. This trip was really non-forgettable.
