Aarogya 2nd Meeting Report of kidney Support Group

The Kidney Support Group of aarogya.com had its 2nd monthly meeting on Aug 6th, 2000. It was held at 101, Shangrila Gardens, Bund Garden, Pune 18 patients along with their relatives, volunteers, dialysis technicians and doctors attended the meeting.

A report on the proceedings of the 1st meeting were read out in the beginning. Then Dr. Sadre gave a briefing about the varioDr. Abhay Sadre and Dr. Ambikeus signs and symptoms of kidney disease. He also guided the patients and their relatives about the proper care that needs to be taken by a patient. He stressed the importance of leading a normal life and the significance of spreading awareness about kidney failures.

Dr. Ambike also informed about the problems faced by the patients and the doctors alike. The suggestion of holding an awareness camp of diabetic patients for early detection of diabetic kidney diseases in them in the near future was welcomed by both the doctors.

First timers for the support group, Mr. Gaikwad and Mr. Vaswani spoke freely about their doubts and problems.

Other patients offered them guidance and support and told about their past experiences. Mr. Raju, a dialysis technician at the Jahangir Hospital described the close relationship that develops between the dialysis patients and their technicians. He also advised everyone to follow their prescribed regimes regarding food. Mr Pendse, another dialysis technician also gave his inputs. The meeting unanimously passed two resolutions.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Tushar Sampat, Director, aarogya.com., Mr. Milind Chitale, Dr. Shilpa Limaye and Yashoda Wakankar from the aarogya.com team. The meeting was also attended by representative of Cadila and Zydus company, and volunteers Mr. Amit Bahirat, Mr. Pendse, Mr. Raju, Mr. Suhas Mulherkar and Mr. Nitin Shah.
