The first meeting of Addiction support group in progress at aarogya.com. These people are proud of their recovery & do not mind their photographs being published. They would like to set up an example for others also.
The members of Addiction support group are given below:
Prasad: "The counseling we offer is not just a clinical one. I was an addict for 10 years before I took to counseling. So when an addict tells me that he managed to fund his drinking without earning a penny or that he had to live on the streets, I know exactly how that feels, because I too have gone through similar experiences. Such counseling helps not just the addict but also helps me as it is a constant reminder of what drinking can do to people like me."
Ravi: "I will be getting married this year end and I think it is largely due to the support of my friends here. I met this lady during a United Nations Drug Control program and we liked each other. She is ready to accept me, given the fact that the sword of addiction looms large over my head. But the journey in time from when we met, until now when we are ready for marriage, has been possible only with the great help of my ex-addict friends."
