Saphal Society and Senior Citizen Forum, Bhopal jointly organised an Awareness & Cultural Program on Saturday, 31st May 2008

Theme: Tobacco–free youth

• Children Versus Tobacco
  World No Tobacco Day is observed around the world every year on May 31. Tobacco is the second major cause of death in the world. The tobacco industry catches them young. Hence it is important to make children aware of the dangers of consuming tobacco. These children in turn may prove to be the best vehicle to carry the message around.
• 150th anniversary of the 1857 struggle for Independence of India
  Children also presented a program on patriotism and the dreams of great freedom fighters & leaders.
  
  Children staged 4 plays, few songs and dances on the above themes. Rtn. Alok Billore, District Governor Elect of Rotary District 3040, was the Chief Guest, who attended the program along with his family and highly appreciated the efforts of the children & the organisers. Smt. Krishna Gaur, President, Mahila Morcha, BJP presided over the ceremony

• Sardar Trilochan Singh, Industrialist & Social Worker.
• Mrs. Madhuri Biswas, Regional Director, ‘Global Cancer Concern’. GCC team also gave a presentation on the dangers of tobacco.
