Use of Aromatherapy Oils for Massage

Geranium Geranium
Massage is the most effective method of using oils. The oils should be diluted with an odorless carrier oil, such as grape seed, sweet almond or peach kernel.

A dilution of 3 percent essential oil to carrier oil is a recommended starting point (less, if using on sensitive skin, such as babies). This is approximately one drop of essential oil to two milliliters of carrier oil (6 drops in two teaspoonfuls). But in all cases less can be definitely more!

There is no scientific evidence that oils are absorbed through the skin and then into the bloodstream. Dermatologists who have done experiments also show that oils do not go through the skin.

The skin is the largest organ of the body and is designed to keep out contaminants not let them in.

A balancing oil for the mind and body. It has a fresh, floral and sweet smelling oil which relaxes, restores and maintains stability of emotions. It is used for massage for cellulite, and in treating eczema and psoriasis. Blends well with other floral oils, and when mixed with lavender and bergamot produces a delightful room freshener.
