The new building has luxurious private/ semi-private rooms and a general ward. The operation theatre complex has surgical facilities for Microsurgery, Lens implants and  Vitreo-retinal work and, in addition, they also have a Phacoemulsifier. Excimer Laser

Photo-Refractive Keratectomy (PRK)

Bhaskar Vision Pvt. Ltd. introduces at NIO, the revolutionary Excimer Laser Technology for treatment of Myopia (short-sightedness i.e. Minus Number) and Astigmatism.  It is now possible for people with these conditions to see the world without spectacles or contact lenses. 

Excimer is a Laser beam of ultraviolet rays of 193 nm wavelength, which reshapes the surface of the cornea.  Being completely Computer-Controlled, it is accurate, more predictable and more precise than older methods.

Corneal Topography

An essential procedure in Keratoplasty surgery and Excimer Laser.

Anyone over 18 years of age with a minus spectacle number ( Myopia) stable for over a year.

A thorough eye examination includes indirect Ophthalmoscopy, Psychiatry and Corneal Topography.

Treatment

Preparation of the eye PRK  takes approximately 5 minutes and the laser treatment itself  just a few seconds. The procedure is done under  local anesthesia.  Some sensitive patients may need painkillers.

Vitreo-Retinal Surgery

Retinal detachment and vitreous hemorrhage often require complex surgery.  This is now done routinely at the Vitreo-Retinal Surgical Unit of NIO.

Complicated Retinal Detachments are treated with the help of Microscopy by vitrectomy and endolaser.

Posterior vitrectomies are performed for advanced Diabetic Retinopathy and other Vitreo-retinopathies with fluid gas exchange.

Backup by B.Scan and Diode Laser.

Phacomulsification  

The sutureless removal of cataract, a reality today, now performed the world over by the recently introduced operative technique of phacoemulsification is a procedure of choice at NIO.

There are major advantages to this procedure

NIO does not forget the rural population and performs eye camps at Chakan, Osmanabad and Shirur (Free of charge).
