Connecting NGO, which works for suicide prevention completes two years of its helpline service. Connecting is a Pune–based NGO fully committed to the cause of suicide prevention especially among youth and providing support to those who have lost someone to suicide.Connecting has engaged in several powerful initiatives and the group now has many committed, qualified and experienced mental health professionals, therapists, educationists and survivors of suicide, as its members.

As part of its constant efforts at raising more awareness on suicide prevention, Connecting is organising a Rok–A–Dance competition on 24th July which brings out the best of music bands and dance performances by youth. The aim of this NGO is to bring out the concerns and pressure which students face nowadays. The competition is open to all and will be held at Dastur Primary school.

“We would like all the colleges of the city to participate in the event which would help us to connect to the youth” says Arnavaz Damnia, Managing Trustee of Connecting.

Connecting has also launched its toll free number 1800 209 4353 which works from 2–8pm daily where trained volunteers listen to your problems without judgment.
