Deaths due to leptospirosis are on the rise in south Gujarat. With 11 live more deaths in the past 48 hours, the toll in the region has reached 77. Meanwhile, 60 more patients have been admitted to New Civil Hospital in the city and at other district headquarters during the period. With this, the total number of people affected by the disease has gone up to 385.

Patients who died on Tuesday are Dayal Patel (55) from Navsari, Vana Chaudhary (45), Mandvi, Surat, Hira Rathod (35), Olpad, Surat, Mukesh Dhodhadiya (40), Kamrej, Surat, Nalin Naika (30) Valsad, Baput Patel (65), Valsad, Suman Halpati (52), Navsari and Dhaya Ahir (37), Navsari.
