New screening method gives life to babies
A novel screening method has helped a city hospital save 120 babies that would have lost their lives or born with life–long deformities.

According to data produced at the prestigious Global Congress of Maternal and Infant Health in Barcelona, Spain, Dr Kishore Kumar of ‘The Cradle’ proved how a newborn screening method adopted at the hospital saved 120 precious lives. These 120 babies would have been born with serious metabolic disorders had they not been screened at an early stage.

"It is unethical and illegal to turn a blind eye to the problems being faced by Indian babies," Kumar said.
