Rotary International District 3190 has decided to conduct free surgeries on 365 poor children with heart ailments. Manandi Suresh of RI said they were taking up community projects worth Rs 6 crore, with focus on physically, mentally and financially challenged children.

According to the plan, 365 children from economically weaker section can get their heart operations worth Rs 3.5 crore.

He said residential vocational training centres will be set up for autistic children and 30 resource centres will be established for slow learning children.
