The health department has increased its disease surveillance over identifying pneumonia cases in the city.

With the possibility of swine flu re–emerging in the coming days as temperatures falls after the onset of monsoons, cases related to cold, fever, are being taken seriously.

At least three suspected patients are undergoing swine flu treatment while one suspected case was isolated two days ago, according to district health officials. The state health department had issued directives 10 days ago to city hospitals to isolate beds and had requested ventilator facilities being earmarked for suspected wine flu cases.
