THE World Kidney Day will be observed all over the globe, including Pakistan, on Thursday (today) to highlight the challenge of kidney diseases as well as to create awareness for prevention, control and treatment of kidney diseases.

The World Kidney Day is observed on second Thursday of March every year under the auspices of World Health Organisation. To mark the World Kidney Day, Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons (PAUS), Lahore chapter, will hold activities like seminars, conferences and free medical camps in all mega hospitals of Lahore on Thursday (today).

In this connection, PAUS will provide free facility of blood and urine tests to diagnose kidney complications besides conducting operations and providing medicines to the kidney patients free of cost in Nephrology and Urology Wards of all hospitals of Lahore. The doctors will provide expert advice to the patients and also disseminate information through seminars, conferences, literature and other means to create awareness for prevention of kidney diseases among the general public.

The renal patients are advised to visit Nephrology and Urology Wards of all hospitals of Lahore on Thursday (today) for free test and treatment in this regard. Meanwhile, a free medical camp will also be held at Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore, on Thursday (today) at 8:30am. Prof Aizaz Mand, Head of Department of Nephrology, SZH, will supervise the camp. The doctors and medical staff will conduct blood, urine and other relevant tests to diagnose the kidney diseases free of cost and advise the patients accordingly.
