"This is going to be a game-changer in medicine and I'm proud to be the first Indian surgeon to use this," said Dr JS Raj kumar of the Lifeline Hospitals in Chennai.

"Medical College students around the world can watch and learn from landmark surgeries with no disturbance to the procedure. Expert surgeons from any part of the world can guide surgeons during difficult surgeries."

Dr Rajkumar stresses that the Google glasses, sometimes described as "a wearable computer" will give him "access to a wealth of surgical information in a jiffy" during the operation.
