How about gold (Suvarna Bhasma) and Shilajeet?

Suvarna Bhasma or powedered gold is a lot advertised drug for enhancing the sex power. Since it is a metal it may get deposited in the bones, kidneys and other body organs and thus can interfere with their normal functioning. This could damage the organs in the long run. It was the wrong psychological assumption that radiant metal like gold could alter the body mechanism to make up the energy of the body debilitated by the discharged vital semen. Gold has no role to play in the production of the semen and the body is not debilitated by the discharge of the semen. Shilajeet is the produce of the rocks in the Himalayan regions. Thinking it to impart rock-like qualities to the penile erection was the rationale behind its blind use. Medically all these are baseless and irrational assumptions.
