Beauty Therapies in Ayurveda
The ayurvedic Herbal Conditioner and Dye mentioned here are completely safe for use. The dry powders can be prepared and stored for later use. It softens the hair and helps to reduce the split ends while giving a shine and bounce to the hair at the same time.

Hair Conditioner
Ingredients Quantity Procedure
Bawachi 1/2 tsp (seeds)
Nagarmotha (roots) 1/2 tsp
Tulsi 1/2 tsp, Rakta Chandan pwd 1/2 tsp.
1 part each Mix the ingredients with warm water to make a paste. Apply on hair and leave for 5 minutes and rinse off with water.

Other herbs like Brahmi, Bhringaraj, Mehandi (henna), Neem, Jaswand (china rose) and Triphala.
Amla 2 part each
Shikakai powder 5 part each

A fine dry powder of the mentioned herbs can be made and stored in a dry air–tight container. It can be mixed with water or milk to form a paste at the time of taking bath.

Hair Dye
Ingredients Quantity Procedure
Mehandi (henna) 8 tbsp Soak the ingredients in hot tea decoction in a iron bowl for about 24 hours. Before application add a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar. Add 1 tsp of coffee/katha. Apply thickly on hair and leave for about 1–3 hours. Rinse off with water.
Neelini (optional) 8 tbsp
Amla/Triphala 4 tbsp

The dye is safe and has no side–effects. Soaking the herbal powder in a coffee decoction gives a brownish tinge to the dye.
