- There is no specific treatment. Patient requires only supportive and symptomatic management.
- Ensure nutritious diet containing carbohydrates and adequate rest. However, strict bed rest is not required unless patient is acutely ill.

| Hepatitis A virus (HAV) | Hepatitis A vaccine is the best protection. Short–term protection against hepatitis A is available from immune globulin. It can be given before and within two weeks after coming in contact with HAV. |
