The Rs 1,182 crore project Panchdeep will automate and web–enable its services to ensure better healthcare facilities to the beneficiaries

The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) in India has decided to automate and web–enable its services to ensure better healthcare facilities to the beneficiaries.

The Rs 1,182 crore project Panchdeep will not only enable the organisation connect it’s headquarter with all its offices and centres, it would also enable ESIC to provide employers and beneficiaries online facility for registration, payment of premium and disbursement of cash benefits.

To be set up on Built–Own–Operate–Transfer (BOOT) model by Wipro Infotech, the project aims at linking up ESIC headquarters with all 51 regional, sub regional and divisional offices, 620 branch offices, 144 hospitals and 1,388 dispensaries and state directorates.

It also includes setting up of a data centre and disaster recovery facility, besides implementation of the Hospital Information Management System and ERP, sources said.
The company would also be deploying other modules for HR, finance and general administration management to streamline the operation and improve the organisational efficiency.

ESIC is a statutory corporation, under the country’s Ministry of Labour and Employment, and is the implementing agency of a pioneering Social Security Scheme in India.
