High prevalence of heart problems among those less than 35 years of age is a reality. To check this dangerous trend, the Ruby Hall Clinic has launched an aggressive year–long campaign titled ‘Dil Se’, which will sensitise people in the city and neighbouring urban, semi–urban and rural areas about the importance of a healthy heart.

"While India is a country with growing incidences and prevalence of heart diseases, we still grapple with issues like limited awareness and inadequate reach of appropriate treatment options. ‘Dil Se’ is our effort to address these issues. We hope that people will come forward and make the most of it," said Purvez Grant, chief cardiologist, Ruby Hall Clinic.

K B Grant, managing trustee of the hospital, flagged off a mobile diagnostic van at the launch of the campaign.

As part of the campaign, free of cost heart check up camps will be organised on a regular basis. The mobile diagnostic van will be deployed to conduct day–long screening camps in urban, semi–urban and rural parts of Maharashtra. The van is equipped with basic and high–end diagnostic equipment such as blood pressure apparatus, glucometer, electrocardiogram and colour doppler machine for echo–cardiograph.
