What better way to mark World Kidney Day than by saluting those who donated the vital organs and saved lives.

Sagar Hospitals felicitated ‘kidney donors’ on the eve of World Kidney Day on Wednesday. Medical director, Sagar Hospitals, Dr Mohan Reddy said: “The transplant team of Sagar Hospitals salutes the kidney donors for their concern towards their loved ones and other recipients of the organs.” Kidney failure is common in diabetics with blood sugar and blood pressure, doctors said. As many as 22 donors were felicitated with shawls, garlands and a special certificate at the function. For many, it was an emotional moment as their kidneys had given life to some of their close relatives. The kidney transplant team of the hospital shared their experiences and the process of transplant with the audience. Narayan, who had donated his kidney to his daughter, and Manvi Kumar, who had recieved a kidney from his mother, shared their experiences. They advised people to get themselves checked and not to get bogged down by the disease.
