How to deal with emergency medical situations is a challenge and creating awareness about it among the general public from the non–medical background is more important. That is why we have taken the initiative called ‘Aarogya Doot‘ (Health volunteer) for women, Rekha Dubey, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital (ABMH), the multi–specialty healthcare facility based in Chinchwad, said. The initiative was undertaken in association with NGO Moraya Samajik Pratisthan on Friday.

Over 200 health volunteers attended the day–long, free training programme, wherein they were trained on primary emergency treatment for women.

Topics like basic life support, family diet, women–related diseases at different stages of life, ideal parenting, heart diseases and information on effects of radiology on women were discussed during the session.

Pratishthan‘s Dr Ganesh Ambike, Riddhi–Siddhi Women Self–Help Group‘s Usha Salunke and Forbes Marshall Company‘s social department‘s Meghna Marathe and Neeta Rane along with representatives from ABMH conducted the programme.
