Now, SMS, Calls To Remind Parents About Vaccination
Beginning Monday, parents of every newborn child in Gautam Budh Nagar district will receive direct updates about their child’s immunisation.

The district administration will launch its ambitious project, Arogyadeep (Out Bound Dial Solution), on July 5 under which parents will be called or sent an SMS about their child’s due date of vaccination and vaccine type.

Deepak Aggarwal, District Magistrate, Gautam Budha Nagar, said the administration has been maintaining a data of births since April 1, 2010, in hospital under it and will be sending personalised SMSes to parents a day before the child’s due vaccination date.

"The use of technology will make it easy for us to access each newborn in the district.
An SMS before the day of vaccination will be sent to every parentgivingdetails aboutthe date of vaccination and the type of vaccination that is to be given to the child as a part of polioeradicationandimmunisation programme. The department will also be offering caller tunes informing parents about the vaccination day and date and the type of vaccination," Aggarwal added.

Officials said the project would be a pioneering step in eradicating polio and making immunisation accessible in the state which has one of the worst immunisation record.

"We have divided the district in four zones Dadri, Dankaur, Bisrakh and Jevar.
The officers responsible to collect data have ensured every child is on the list and every parent informed about the vaccination," said Dr P K Singh, Additional CMO, Immunisation.

The data will also be uploaded on the website of the department.
