My Dear ones', a book penned by late American neurologist and psychiatrist Abraham Low on self-help movement for persons with major psychiatric disorders and their families will soon be available in Marathi language.

City-based NGO Schizophrenia Awareness Association (SAA) in association with Persistent Foundation has come out with translated version of the book, to be released on the occasion of World Schizophrenia Day on Thursday. Translated by writer Kamalini Phadke, the book is being published by SAA itself.

“Dr Low's book is deemed as extremely helpful for persons with major psychiatric disorders and their families in the recovery process. By bringing this English book into Marathi, large number of affected persons will be benefited,” SAA activist Prof Anil Vartak told reporters on Tuesday.

SAA every year organises late Aditya Pendse memorial lecture on World Schizophrenia Day, which will be delivered by Dr Ajay Singh, vice-president of Indian Psychiatric Association (Western zone), this year. “Treatment for Schizophrenia- new hopes' will be the theme Singh's lecture.

Both, book-release functions of Aditya Pendse memorial lecture, will be held at Devang Mehta Auditorium of Bhagirath Persistent Systems Limited, off Senapati Bapat Road from 5 pm onwards, it was said.
